CV and Resume
Rachel Chamousis, a homeschooler and McNair
Scholar, earned her B.S. in Chemistry from
CSU, Stanislaus. She is currently a PhD
candidate in chemistry at the
University of California, Davis.
Her research incorporates nanomaterials as
photocatalysts for water splitting and solar cell
applications in Dr. Osterloh's lab. She especially
enjoys sparking interest in science
through outreach opportunities.
Rachel joined The Masterworks Academy in October 2010. Her friend and colleague, Aimee Bryan, asked me if she would be interested in helping out with a science club she had started for a small group of home-schooled families. She has always loved science demonstrations and this was the perfect opportunity to share her chemistry knowledge with others through fun, hands-on activities. Being home-schooled herself, she knew how beneficial interaction with scientific professionals would be for these students. She is grateful for this opportunity to encourage others in their academic endeavors.
